President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, through the Director-General of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr. Zubaida Umar, on Wednesday 3rd July, 2024, handed over Federal Government approved assorted food commodities to the the Government of Bayelsa State through the Bayelsa State Emergency Management Agency (BYSEMA), for distribution to vulnerable households as to cushion the effect of high cost of food items in the country.
The food items received by the Director-General of Bayelsa State Emergency Management Agency (BYSEMA), Hon. Walamam Samuel Igrubia, and his team in Yenagoa includes 1,280 bags of 25kg garri and 6,400 bags of 50kg maize.
The Director-General of the Bayelsa State Emergency Management Agency (BYSEMA), Hon. Walamam Igrubia, On behalf of the good people of Bayelsa State and Government of Bayelsa State thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his team for finding Bayelsa State worthy to be given.
According to the agency, the above food items will be shared equally to all the Local Government Areas in the State.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has shared food items to various states in fulfillment of promise to reduce the impact of the current economic down turn being experienced in the country in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
