The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, Dr. Dennis Burutu Otuaro has promised to immediately kick-start an education and vocational training program for ex-agitators in the Niger Delta.

Otuaro who gave the promise at a five-day stakeholders meeting in Warri, Delta State with the theme:” Fostering, Consolidating, and Collaborating for the Peace, Security, Stability, and Development of the Niger Delta” had in attendance first phase generals and camp leaders from Edo, Ondo, Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta States.

The meeting was organized by the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta (OSAPND), led by High Chief,(Dr.) Dennis Otuaro.

Otuaro while addressing the participants thanked the phase generals for their patience as it concerns the education and vocational training initiated by the Amnesty Programme, emphasising on the need for more stakeholders support for the success of his office.

He stressed on the need to redesign the program to focus on human capital development and sustainable opportunities for women in small scale businesses across communities in the region.

The Amnesty Boss who highlighted existing challenges to include discrepancies in delegate names, incomplete training and unmet empowerment promises,; however assured stakeholders of his commitment at restarting the university program, commencement of a comprehensive education and vocational training as well as empowerment initiative.

Otuaro reaffirmed his commitment to serve the interest of stakeholders in the Niger Delta, stressing that he is not in the office for personal gains but seek ways to fast track development in region.

Princewill Binebai, Spokesman IYC Comrade Freedom Atigbi, Deputy President IYC Bob Collins Igetei, and Chairman IYC Western Zone Comrade Nicholas Igarama, among others.
